Something Wicked 2016

October 5, 2016 By Mike

Here are the paintings we submitted to the annual Something Wicked show at Side Street Studio Arts. We decided that this year most of our submissions would be very modestly sized. (We really wanted the fun challenge). There are two though that are surprisingly tiny.

The annual “Something Wicked” show at Side Street is always impressive. The variety of work is always amazing. It’s fun to see horrifying works sitting side by side with cute monsters. Our fellow artists are a talented bunch.

If you’re in Elgin during October, 2016, stop in to see the show. It’s always fun. Find out more about the Friday 10/7/2016 opening reception here.

Stop by the gallery. It will be worth it!

Fall shows at Side Street Studio Arts

September 5, 2016 By Mike

Side Street Studio Arts fall shows are all lined up and we will be participating in a few of them.

FringFest – Sept 15-18
They will also have a ton of performing artists through the five day show.  It always promises to be fun.

Something Wicked – October 7
A fine way to start off the Halloween season.

Now we just need to put together some ideas for their Krampus show in December.

Rotofugi Announcement

We have some HUGE news to share with everyone!

Rotofugi Designer Toy Store and Gallery will feature our work in their side gallery on February 3rd, 2017.

They were the first gallery we wanted to approach with our work. We were thrilled when Kirby Kerr, Rotofugi Gallery co-owner, contacted us and said he wanted to display the show.

Mark your calendar and be there when we finally get to show ‘The 33’ to the world.

Cheesecake: Seconds Please! was a wonderful success!

August 21, 2016 By Mike

We had a blast at the Cheesecake: Seconds Please! show. Thank you once again to all the artists that participated in the show and all the people that came to see the show. You can see loads of photos of the show on the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ElginPinupShow/

We’re already discussing what next year’s show will be.  I’ll post the details as we get them.

Here are the paintings we contributed to the show.  Four new paintings and one reworked painting that had been abandoned for years.  I will probably never be able to answer the question “Why on earth Bruce created two 3D breasts on a canvas with cement?”
